Mike Thrasher receives his award from the Visitors Bureau
Mike Thrasher, Wooten’s COO and Manager of Marketing and Group Sales, received the Public Relations Star Award at this year’s Paradise Coast Tourism Star Awards. The awards were delivered by the Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention & Visitors Bureau to celebrate excellence in Collier County tourism.
“We’re very lucky to have Mike on our team,” said Aashish Patel, owner of Wooten’s Everglades Airboat Tours. “He’s done a great job bringing in more large tour groups by building relationships with companies in Southwest Florida, and has been an integral part of Wooten’s growth in the last two years.”
Thrasher, a former bank president, joined Wooten’s in YEAR to promote the company’s Everglades airboat tours and other attractions as a group tour package. Since then his role has expanded to chief operations officer.
“I really enjoy my job,” said Thrasher. “I get to work with a team of people who are passionate about showing visitors a great time in the Everglades. Being a part of that is very rewarding.”
